[ 02 ] · The Digital Reality Gap

Stated Reality

What you say about yourself: your website, structured data, press releases and the profiles you control.

STATED REALITY

What the company says

Every company has all three versions. The gap is how far apart they have drifted.

Your own record can be wrong

A stale About page, an outdated press release or an incorrect structured-data field does not stay on your website. It gets copied into databases, publications, search results and AI answers.

Before asking whether AI reflects your source of truth, establish whether your source of truth is true.

In the Digital Reality Score

In the Digital Reality Score, the company’s own properties set the value each claim is measured against. They never count as proof of it: a website cannot corroborate itself, and when the company corrects its own statement, every source is re-read. Methodology
